Ice shelter. documentation.  Milanowek, Poland 2010.

There is a small town in Poland where I was born and spend last winter.  There was snowy and silent. Long boring nights.

The houses like mine are placed between the woods close to each other but we can hardly know the neighbors.

Every family is separated in their own house.

I decided to build up a shelter. The most archaic architecture structure. Create an alternative temporary place where

people can meet. Using snow and freezing water I created a thin layer , transparent dome made of ice. Than the falls came

covering the dome with fluffy snow. 

I put a very strong light inside so the shelter started to glow in the dark garden. The neighbors attracted by the light phe-

nomena started to came over. For few weeks “igloo” was a popular party place for locals.
